The designated capstone experience course for the M.Ed. in Physical Education is PHED 605V Independent Study. Receiving a passing grade in the course requires the successful completion of the following two components:
- an in-depth research project focused on a current issue or problem related to physical education/kinesiology, and
- an exit interview whereby the student is asked to apply knowledge, psychometric learning experience, principles, and content learned throughout the program to real life teaching situations.
Rubrics will be used to evaluate both the research project and the exit interview. Failure to receive a course grade of C or better in the course will require the student to retake the entire course and capstone experience.
